Today’s doodle is actually a design that has been in the making. I have been sketching and prototyping my own design company logo for a while, and today gave me the wonderful excuse to bring it to life!
Here is my own design company, Designs by Day, logo! I created this all in Illustrator. Georgia is the typeface. The filigree I created with the pen tool and was originally inspired by an image of two delicate leaves. I actually really like how it doesn’t necessarily look like leaves. It imply other ideas – my husband walked in to see my work in progress and said “Ooo mermaid tail!” I like that it is open to interpretation. I also appreciate the simplicity of it, and obviously the ability to be reduced in size and still be recognizable.
I am looking forward to placing this on my work going forward!
